Kennel Club's Dog Photographer of the Year 2017
I'm so excited to finally be able to announce something that I thought would never happen! Or at least not this soon in my photography journey! haha. I'm so privileged to have placed 1st in the Kennel Club's Dog Photographer of the Year competition in the Rescue Dogs category 2017!! This year was also in fact the first year for the new category Rescue Dogs!
This is my 3rd year entering the competition, in my first year I was thrilled to have received a Special Mention! The Kennel Club Dog Photographer of the Year 2017 had over 10,000 entries from 74 different countries. The competition gets stronger every year so it's truly an honour to be amongst great pieces of work!
This image was taken at Bath Cats and Dogs Home. Chloe came to the home after her owner died. She came in along with her friends Tess, also a greyhound and Diego a Corgi cross. I have spent a lot of time visiting the home, especially this year where I've been helping the animal care team when I can. I'm pleased to say that as part of my award I get £500 to donate to my chosen charity, which of course I chose Bath Cats and Dogs home! They are such a wonderful team and I've loved working with them! Here are the rest of the wonderfull winners and Special Mentions - http://www.dogphotographeroftheyear.org.uk
