Pet Photography Sessions

We are lucky to be blessed with all four seasons here in the UK, they are all beautiful in their own way. Whether it's the soft green tones of Spring or the golden leaves in Autumn - every season has something to offer when it comes to photography. If there is a particular season you'd like to capture, please contact in advance to make sure you secure your perfect session.  I'd love to hear about you and your pet(s)! The more information you give me, the more I can customise your photoshoot. When you enquire, I'll send you a full product list and a session guide. Browse my portfolio and products available so you have a good idea of what you want from your session and together we'll make the magic happen! Natural light is just as important as my camera. If the weather isn't ideal for your session, we will simply reschedule for the next available date.​

When the day of your photoshoot is finally here, we'll take some time to greet each other and for your pet(s) to get to know me. Friends and family members are of course welcome as long as it's not too distracting! Your dog(s) may also need some time to sniff and get used to their surroundings, especially if it's their first time at the location and they are all excited. If you have a cat(s) that is a bit shy, we'll take it slow and make sure that they are comfortable before we start. If you'd like to be in some of the images too, no problem! There is no rush during your session, we'll take as much time that is needed to make sure we get the best results. Before your photoshoot, please read the section on how to prepare for your session which will be in your session guide.

You are welcome to choose your own location or pick from the location list which will be in your session guide when you enquire.  Photoshoots normally take place in a natural setting such as a local park with a stream, woodlands or a hilly location with wonderful views. Urban towns or cities can also be a great setting for some really unique and vibrant images. If you are struggling to choose a location, take a look through my portfolio to see if there are any images that you’d like to recreate with your dog, I can then guide you to where the best location will be to achieve it. Please let me know if you or your dog have any health issues so that we make sure to pick a suitable location. Pet Portrait sessions covers me to travel a 20 mile radius from Swansea however, I am still currently accepting clients from my old location in Wiltshires and in between the two! If you have an old dog or have cats, the session can be done at your home. 

After your photoshoot, I'll start the process of selecting and editing your images. This usually takes two weeks to complete. You have the choice of an online viewing gallery, video call or an in person viewing. You'll view your images and choose your favourites! The amount of images you will view varies from session to session but the average is around 20 -30 images for one pet. Once you have chosen, we can begin selecting your products to create beautiful artwork of your pet! I always ask clients to look through the product list beforehand to get some inspiration. If you already know what product you'd like to order before your session, please let me know as this will help me plan your session better.
