For the last 6 weeks I've actually been babysitting the family collies for the summer. It's been great having them and I'm sure I'm going to miss them when they leave. I also feel like I know them a lot more, their individual personalities. We've also been trying to train them to walk on the lead better. They have improved loads, they used to pull all the time and it was quite tiring. They aren't as bad now and Megan is usually no problem at all on her own and they both listen to you more...unless they have a ball.
Both are really good off the lead, they never go too far and always come back if you call. The only reason I'd be cautious letting them off the lead is because unfortunately, the two aren't that socialised and often bark at other dogs. Rather then walking them along the canal I'll walk them along an old rail track, much quieter. It's very beautiful at the moment, hedges are thick and loads of wild flowers. I've also seen so many butterflies and bees along there.
I was in the shop and decided to take a sneak peek at this months Dogs Today magazine.... and there I was! My photo of Rosie and Freddie the little chihuahuas from one of my very first shoots for my Final Major project at Uni. I also got another half page :D My favourite photographer is also there, the photo of the collie in the top right corner!
My boyfriend has been interested in getting a gecko for some time now. Although as cute as they are, I always said no. I knew that it would be me doing all the work to look after it and I already have many little ones who rely on me! They also already take up a lot of space, especially Terrence and his new vivarium. Where would it even live? This of course didn't last very long!
Funnily enough, a breeder of Crested Geckos lived only minutes down the road. He has many eggs and a few hatchings who are nearly ready to leave to new homes. We arranged a visit and....well, unsurprisingly, I fell in love! The 5-6 week old geckos were so tiny and incredibly cute! We also met the parents who were so soft! At this point I wanted two...
We got the terrarium set up during a couple weeks then we went back to pick up our little gecko. We took home the eldest. In a few weeks time we'll know for sure whether it's a male or female. We are desperately hoping she is female as then we'll be able to get her a buddy! Here's hoping for a little girl!
My blog is for updates and a little behind the scenes info on my current projects and activities.
